Landscapes of the Sacred pt.2 12/04/2022

 

Once again this stuck out when I was reading, “ Tell me the landscape in which you live and I will tell you who you are, ‘ declared Jose Ortega y Gasset. By this he implied that place not only has a way of molding a personality, but it serves also as an anchor of human existence. Landscape is a connector of the soul with Being.” I think this serves to be true as people often debate whether or not their personality is really their own or if it is just molded from their surroundings.

Feedback on teacher for 11/7

 I did enjoy Dr. Kessler and his lesson I thought to was very interesting. I believe he is a very engaging speaker and can keep an audience entertained and engaged throughout a period of time. I think he is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches about. His lesson was engaging and interactive as he did not just stand at the front of the room and talk, he allowed us to work in groups and provided us with a handout which makes it more hand on learning. He also mixed in humor and comedy to which made the classroom not as serious and more laid back which I find easier to learn in. I do think at times he ran through material a little fast and was all over the place which did in fact make it hard to follow. I think he could improve a little on slowing down explaining the material a little more in depth especially to the people who have no religious background or knowledge on the information. The Nolan Trail

 During our class trip to the Nolan Trail, I found it very relaxing once we started walking and saw all the different things in nature.  Fall was just arriving as many of the leaves have fallen off the trees.  This made the trail more colorful as all the leaves were different shades of brown, green, orange, and yellow.  You can see all the wildlife while walking the trail as well.  It seemed like every 5 seconds you would hear a squirrel run by you or scurry up a tree, then next thing you know, your standing 10 yards away from a doe.  I have never been that close considering whenever they hear or see you, they take off in the other direction.  It was also nice to get out of the classroom environment and get some fresh air.  Constant school work can be stressful and this relieved it.
