Outside Reading 2

For this next outside reading, I read blog posts from Love and Peace on Trailjournals.com. She hiked the American Discovery Trail and wrote about her experiences there. The thing that I noticed about her blogs is that they were much shorter than most of the others that I had read. I like how she chooses to focus more on updating where they are instead of what they’ve seen along the way. Even though it’s interesting to read about what they saw, I find it more interesting to see the distances that some of the hikers can travel in just a day. However, one thing that I learned from reading Love and Peace’s blogs is that I didn’t think that you could drive to different locations. Before reading the blogs or even taking this class I just thought that these hikes had to be completed completely on foot or on a bike. However, that was not the case with these journals. Many of the miles that this blogger traveled were completed by car. In my opinion, driving through the trails has less of a spiritual impact than if you were to walk or bike. Even though some of the trails were driven through, they did spend a lot of time on bikes. I find it insane how some people can bike 10’s of miles a day. The one thing that compelled me to keep wanting to read blogs by Love and Peace is that I liked how straight up she was. I’m going to be honest, some of the blog posts I’ve read are more confusing and I have a hard time connecting with them as much, so I liked her post a lot because she kept them short and sweet. Most of the time the blogs were just about the miles that they biked and the location in which they were at
