Phenomenology of Prayer- Kendall V

Another interesting section from Phenomenology of Prayer that I absolutely agree with is "praise is fittingly first in the list of elements of prayer." I believe that along with praise, it is also grief or want that fuels prayer. But in my experience, I always open a prayer with a thank you for so and so, or thank you that this went well. I think that is a beautiful way to celebrate life and a good way to give thanks. I enjoy opening prayers on a happy note, and giving thanks for the good day that I had. I am glad to always open prayer with a happy note. I believe that it makes God happy to hear about the good parts of our days from us, even though God knows what we are always doing.
