Samuel Williams Blog Reflection for Phenomenology of Prayer
Blog Reflection for Phenomenology of Prayer: November 29, 2022
After reading several chapters of this book, there were many things that came to mind while reading. First and foremost, it brought back memories of Sunday school. When I was reading it, I felt like I was watching flashbacks of my time at Sunday school as a kid. I felt like I was back in the church classroom as a kid reading about different passages that were significant to the catholic faith. The part that I read that reminded me of this was on page 15. On this page, I read a part that talked about the author and the significance of prayer. The author was going in detail about how he discovered the meaning of prayer, and this really connected with me on a deep level. Going back to how I felt like I was rewatching Sunday school reading this, I very much connected with this section as I related to it quite a bit. When I was a little kid going to Sunday school, I had no idea what it actually meant. I just thought we were going to learn about things that are related to the catholic faith. It wasn't until I was older when I realized the deeper meaning. The realization moment where I realized the significance of prayer came to me probably around 6th grade. This was when I finally began to understand why people pray, why we study faith, and why we believe what we believe. This passage from the book definitely connected with me on a deeper level compared to other reading we have done.
