Term paper 11/30/2022

I really enjoyed being able to write my own thesis for our term papers. In high school I feel like I never had that much freedom when it came to writing our papers, it was always something very specific we had to write about. I enjoyed researching for my thesis more than I thought I would, but I did have to alter my thesis a little to make it less specific.

Feedback on teacher for 11/7

I did enjoy Dr. Kessler and his lesson I thought to was very interesting. I believe he is a very engaging speaker and can keep an audience entertained and engaged throughout a period of time. I think he is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches about. His lesson was engaging and interactive as he did not just stand at the front of the room and talk, he allowed us to work in groups and provided us with a handout which makes it more hand on learning. He also mixed in humor and comedy to which made the classroom not as serious and more laid back which I find easier to learn in. I do think at times he ran through material a little fast and was all over the place which did in fact make it hard to follow. I think he could improve a little on slowing down explaining the material a little more in depth especially to the people who have no religious background or knowledge on the information. Overall I do find him a very engaging speaker and kept me in tune the entire clas...

Landscapes of the Sacred Reading 1

After reading the landscapes of the sacred, I’ve come to realize the severity of having a spiritual/ religious connection. Along with that, I also learned what it meant to go to a sacred place and how it came to be and why they are important. On page 15, the author talks about how in order for a place to be considered sacred, there have to be a ton of stories written or told about it. From pages 16-19 in Landscapes of the Sacred, the author mentions a personal story of how hard it is to find God. He went on to explain his trip to the woods because he was looking for a river. He talks about how he always wants to immediately find and speak to God but most of the time it takes a while. He then goes on to talk about how he was going to leave the woods but felt a calling further into the woods. So, he walked there and leaned against the tree for a while, and then finally after a few minutes of waiting, a female deer walked right up to him. I think that that is super fascinating. The author...

Kip Redick Introduction

Make sure to start the blog with your name and the subject of the entry. Blog entries will be considered informal writing assignments and as such will be graded more in relation to content than style. Blog entries will contain questions and answers to questions, as well as reflections that relate to daily classroom discussions, completion of exercises, and reading assignments. Any questions the student has while reading or completing assignments should be written in their blog. Reflections may relate to connections the student makes between discussions in this class and those in other classes, between arguments raised in the readings in this class and those raised in other classes or from informal conversations. Students are encouraged to apply the ideas learned in this class to activities that take place outside of the class. These applications make great reflections. The student should bring questions from the blog to class and ask those questions that were raised in specific blog en...
