The Noland Trail pt.2 11/02/2022

The Trail seemed like it was very well maintained, even after all the damage from hurricanes and storms over the years. When we went, the fall colors of the trees were at their peak, which made the trail even more enjoyable. Sometimes you do have to watch your step because of tree roots or bigger rocks but other than that the trail is just gravel and dirt. I did also notice there were benches along the trail, in case you needed to rest. I also saw several types of ferns including cinnamon ferns,  and royal ferns. I saw several wild rose bushes that still smelled good. I couldn’t get too close to the water when walking the trail but I managed to glimpse some yellow flowers of swamp iris along the lake's edge. I saw lots of Virginia pine trees as well as oak trees. Below that there were smaller trees such as hollies and dogwoods. Overall, I really enjoyed our class trip to the trail and hope to get back on the trail in the spring!
