Topic of Choice 2

One of the topics that we talked about in class was the 4 Axioms. The first one is that sacred places choose themselves. This means that someone can’t go around and decide if a place is sacred, God chooses it. A person can’t decide if it’s sacred or not, God has to give signs to the people who visit these different places. The next axiom is sacred places aren’t sacred to everyone. That means that if I were to visit a “sacred place” and had an experience with God that doesn’t mean that the next person to visit will have the same experience. I would believe that God chooses who gets to experience this and He would probably choose the most believing person. The third axiom is both moving into and out of a center. And finally, the fourth axiom is that rituals make ordinary places extraordinary. Rituals allow you to speak with things, not in our realm so going to an ordinary place and performing a ritual would bring these spirits or beings into this ordinary place and turn it into a sacred or extraordinary place. I found learning about this super fascinating. To learn not only do sacred places choose themselves but also that sacred places aren’t sacred to everyone. To me, that makes the experiences even more important and special. After learning about this, I will definitely pay more attention to the feelings or vibes that I get from different places because you never know if they are sacred or not.
